We are seeking a results-driven Sales Manager to accelerate APP Group's growth in the Food Packaging Papers market across North America

Location

Remote - based in the Chicago, Dallas, or New York areas

This role will focus on developing and expanding relationships with Paper Food Packaging converters, packaging manufacturers, distributors, and brand owners serving the foodservice, QSR, bakery, and broader food packaging markets.

The ideal candidate will bring strong experience from a paper mill /paper/packaging company or a distributor , combined with an established network within the food packaging industry. Experience selling Greaseproof or other food-contact paper or related substrates into regional or national food packaging converters is highly valued.

The successful candidate will be a highly field-oriented commercial professional who enjoys spending significant time with customers, understanding their manufacturing and product requirements, developing new opportunities, and building long-term partnerships.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and Execute Growth Strategy

  Build and implement a targeted go-to-market plan for APP's packaging paper portfolio across North America, with a strong focus on Food Packaging converters and manufacturers.

  
  

• Customer Development

  Identify, pursue, and manage relationships with converters, packaging manufacturers, and foodservice brands specializing in wraps, pouches, bakery liners, and takeaway packaging

  
  

• Product Advocacy

  Serve as a technical and commercial expert on Foopak Grease-Resistant papers, communicating product benefits and differentials.

  
  

• Strategic Partnerships

  Collaborate with distributors, agents, and end-users to position APP's product suite as the preferred sustainable substrate

  
  

• Cross-Functional Alignment

  Work closely with APP production, logistics, and customer service teams to ensure consistent supply, quality control, and timely delivery

  
  

• Market Intelligence

  Monitor market offerings, material innovations, and regulatory shifts (PFAS bans, compostability standards, etc.) to stay ahead of market demands

  
  

• Performance Management

  Meet or exceed annual revenue, margin, and account retention targets

  
  

Qualifications

• Experience

  5+ years in B2B sales experience in the paper, packaging, material or related industries.

  
  

• Food packaging experience

  Proven experience selling into the

  
  

  food packaging sector , ideally with established relationships across food packaging converters, printers, packaging manufacturers, distributors, or brand owners.
• Commercial Mindset: Demonstrated ability to develop new business, manage strategic accounts, negotiate effectively, and deliver measurable revenue and margin growth.
• Field Orientation: A strong passion for customer-facing sales and willingness to spend substantial time in the field with converters and brand owners . This is not a desk-based sales role.
• Entrepreneurial Mindset: Self-motivated, proactive, and capable of building a market and customer base with strategic follow-through.
• Travel

  Up to 40-50% domestic travel
