We are a very busy blended family in southeast Evanston looking for an household helper who is enthusiastic and willing to wear multiple hats! This role would be ~20 hours per week, 4 or 5 days per week (M / T / Th / F and W optional), and will likely begin in February or possibly sooner - we have been working with someone for a few years now, but she's due to have her first baby, and sadly we know we won't be able to retain her once she gives birth to her own! The four kids include twin 6-year-olds and a 12 and 14 year old. A little more than half of the time on the job would be childcare, either watching the twins, helping them with homework or piano practice, etc, or driving the three younger kids to activities. The other half of the job would be focused on managing the household: general clean-up, grocery "shop and chop" so that meal components are purchased and ready for us to make dinner when we return each evening, laundry including fold / put away, some organizational work and random errands (e.g. dry cleaning pickup, or bringing returns to a store). Because we are a blended family, the kids are there on different days. Right now the younger two are there all the time, and the older ones are there every other week. They are good kids, and we expect them to be respectful and helpful around the house and with each other. My husband and I both travel regularly, so we need someone who is comfortable getting the rhythm of our household and jumping in and being proactive if and when necessary - things like noticing we are running low on sugar before hitting the store or being willing to plan meals (from a list we have) on a week that gets particularly crazy for us.
